*|21st March - Day 2 of Korea trip (part 1)

Supposed to be doing the video now but I am just taking a short break. Very tired now and down with flu ever since I came back from Korea. Haiz~ Cant go sleep yet got to wait for Hwee Min to send me some chucrh camp banner stuff. Damn busy nowadays.

Anyway, back to topic. Finally reach airport in Seoul at round erm 5-6am plus. Whoa... Once I stepped out of the plane, I can pratically feel the coldness of the winter air of Seoul. Put on my jacket in no time and finally took the 1st step out of the airport doors to test how cold it is and it is freaking cold. When I talked, I can see the mist. Haha Though its cold, its the first time I get to blow mist out of my mouth. Damn fun. Took some photos before rushing back into the aorport for warmer air. Suzanna jie jie's digital camera apparently cant stand the sudden coldness. It refused to on itslef despite having enough battery power. Only managed to get it to work for a while. Just 5 mins out there and my hands are really icy cold, much colder than how it is during 2 periods of econ lecture in LT3.

Finally the 1st meal of the day at this place, UDONG NOODLES. Yummy, it was super delicious but I think tat is because I was very hungry then liao. But really it wasn't tat bad, better than how it tasted when I first ate it in Singapore. I tested Kimchi for the first time too. It is kinda sour and spicy... really not tat bad but nah, I'm not used to eating it. The problem with eating UDONG noodles lies with the spoon and chopsticks. Actually it was the chopsticks tat were the main problem. Apparently, Koreans like to use metal spoon and chopsticks because it is easier to get rid of germs. The metal chopsticks were super flat and thin. I had a tough time controlling them just like I did when I first used it at Jing Ting's house during dinner. But there is one good thing about the chopsticks, the design on it was super unique.

After a rather heavy breakfast, we set off Daejanggeum - " A jewel in the palace " filming site. The journey took about 1hr 48mins, very long!!! Haha Am so glad that I brought my hp along with me to Korea though I know that I cant use hp in Korea even if I have auto roam. That is because Korea has their own network and if I wanna sms or call, I either rent a korean hp or buy international calling card. I choose the 2nd option. I was tuning in to various Korean radio stations. Korean music really not bad as in the melody and all tat. The sad thing is that I dun understand their language. Oh That reminds me I phone home early in the morning that day at the airport and I finally know how to use a public phone to call home. First of all have to press the emergency on the telephone then key in 180-550-1233 then key in 2 for English then the card no which I wont type here and then key in 65 (country code) followed by telephone no and the # key. If you realise, I didnt even have to insert the telephone card at all. Haha

I finally saw the sun for the first time in Korea and it was beautiful!!! Oh did I mention that when the wind blows, it becomes super cold, regret not bringing any thermal pants. After tat, the coach was on a bridge that is bringing across the yellow river if I didn't rmb the name wrongly!!!. The river is frozen and ocassionally, u can see water. I can feel the coldness of the air thru the window panes as I write down all that is happening on my little note book that I bring to Korea. Looking at the scenery, I really cant say that Korea is clean, keep seeing lots of litter and dead leaves all around. Really Singapore is a whole lot cleaner. But I guess the fault partly lies on the fact that it is winter season now. Anyway in Korea, they have overhead cables and it is really messy.

After the bridge, the coach passed by a stretch of schools. Their primary school playground is really cute but couldn't capture it down on camera. Wasn't fast enough. The schools are really big but their fences are so so low that if this were to be SAJC fence, a lot of J1s and J2s will be ponning school like crazy. U can just jump over the fence or climb. Its not much of a obstacle seriously speaking. If I were to stand beside the fence, think it will most probably reach chest area. Its tat low. Oh I saw some people carrying ladders. Korea ladders are really different from that of Singapore. Its curvy not straight. WOW!!! Passed by an overhead nridge that has a spiral staircase leading all the way up... SPIRAL STAIRCASE!!! That is so so unusual.

Oops, Guess I was wrong, the next destination wasn't Daejanggeum but rather it is LUNCH!!! YUMMY!!! The lettuce was so sweet. Natural sweetness. Its really true that though Korea has lesser variety of fruits and vegetables, their food are really sweet because their fruits and vegetables take a longer time to grow and have more nutrients in it. Thhis must be due to the 4 different seasons that Korea experiences. Next we went to Ladies's Fashion streets not Daejanggeum. Lots of clothes at Ladies fashion street but didnt have much time to really look around and tried on the stuff. Wads more the things sold there are actually more expensive than if you were to buy it in Sinagpore. So much for things being cheaper in Korea. Bought the leg warmers thing there... YEAH!!! Now my legs no longer feel that cold as before. Finally, next stop which is about erm... one and the half hour away... DAEJANGGEUM!!!

Finally reach " A jewel in the Palce" filming site. Its really nice there. Just kept taking photos after photos, posing in front of paper figures and all that. The only really nice photo that I captured at tat place was a small stream. There is this bridge, a really short one that connects the main part of the buiding to the toilet. I saw the ste=ream there, it was rather dried cos most of the water has frozen into a really large ice ball found somewhere up the stream. Really like tat photo a lot. That place really not bad but the next destination is much better!!!
